Mountain Bike Racing
June
6/28 CCCX Mountain Bike Race Series: Toro Park. Race routes will be approximately 5 to 6 miles in length with each start wave(9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m.) doing different number of laps. Each course consists of fire roads, single-track, loose & hard-packed trails, climbs & descents, mixed in among open meadows & tree filled terrain. Reg.: Adults 35$ , Juniors 20$, per race, includes one day license. The start site is located at 501 Monterey-Salinas Highway 68, Salinas. Follow the directions in the park to the designated CCCX parking area. For more info, go to www.cccx.org
Mountain Bike Endurance Event
June
6/20-21 Coolest 8-24 hr race at Boggs Mountain: 8 & 24 hr, teams and solos. Course: 90% single track 10% fire. 1,050 ft. of climbing per 10 mi. lap. Reg. includes t-shirts, great prizes awards. For more info, contact Jim, jimmyboy3@sbcglobal.net or call (530) 889-9412
Road Racing Event
June
6/21 Nevada City Classic: Nevada City. 1.1 mi., 7-turn, counter-clockwise loop through the Nevada City's downtown. Racers reach speeds of 50+ mph on the straight-away downhill across the start/finish. This one is considered one of the most technically and physically challenging 1-day courses in America.
