Road Bike Races
September
9/10 South Canal Road Time Trial: Folsom. Part of Folsom's Cyclebration! An individual TT. The course is a 10 mi. out-and-back on the canal with 2 short steep hills each direction. Racers navigate the turnaround on a narrow road. Some of the Junior races will have a shorter distance. For more info, go to www.FolsomCyclebration.com
9/11 Folsom Challenge Criterium: Lake Forest Business Park, Folsom. Counter clockwise race course; racers fly through two 90 degree corners entering and exiting Lake Forest Rd., connected by a horseshoe shaped Blue Ravine Rd. Spectators can enjoy local restaurants within walking distance and shaded action-packed viewing of the race. For more info, go to www.FolsomCyclebration.com
9/12 Two Bridges Circuit Race: Downtown Folsom. 1.6 mile lap through the historic downtown features Folsom's two most notable bridges over the American River/Lake Natoma: the impressively engineered Lake Natoma Crossing, and the iconic and historical Rainbow Bridge. The spectating is as amazing as the race venue. This race is the last in the Omnium, consider doing all three races and staying at one of Folsom's amazing hotels - ask for the Cyclebration special! 9/25 8th Great Lake Tahoe Bike Race: Lake Tahoe. Classic 72 mile ride around the lake, starts in Zephyr Cove. 35 mi. race or ride begins in Tahoe City. The clockwise course circumnavigates Lake Tahoe and has two major climbs ranging between 6,240 ft. and 7,000 ft. plus other smaller hills. Fee includes Wind Shirts and finishers medal for all participants, plus a $5 lunch credit at Zephyr Cove snack bar. Awards and license plate holders for time achievements met. $500 purse, 5 deep, plus a $500 bounty for setting a new record. Reg. open until day before the event.
